Nut Butter RECALL – Salmonella Contamination

Nutritionalequilibriumalmondbutter

Warning folks: A whole slew of nut butters are contaminated with Salmonella, which is an organism that can cause serious infections. Every year, Salmonella is estimated to cause about 1.2 million illnesses in the United States, with about 23,000 hospitalizations and 450 deaths. Most persons infected with Salmonella develop diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps 12 to 72 hours after infection.

I’m pretty upset about this to say the least. I just finished off a jar of Whole Foods 365 Organic Creamy Roasted Almond Butter 16 oz. which is included in this recall along with other varieties of Whole Foods 365 brand as well as Arrowhead Mills, MaraNatha, Kroger, Safeway & Trader Joe’s.

Click here to read the firm press release on the recall from the FDA.

Hopefully you wont be effected by this possible health risk!

Please share with your friends and loved ones who love nut butters as much as you and I. 😉

Love,

Angie
