The Essential Oil Blend I Wear Daily

Serenity_doterra123

Ahhh, Serenity. I LOVE this calming, Zen inducing blend.

Stress is a major contributor to illness and disease. In fact, it is estimated that more than 90% of all visits to health care professionals are related to stress.

How stressed are you? Wouldn’t you like to spend your life in a more serene state? 🙂 Well, you can! It’s so easy!

How To Use Serenity Essential Oil Blend:

Apply 2-3 drops to the bottom of your feet at bedtime to promote restful sleep.

Add 2-3 drops to a warm bath to create a peaceful, renewing aroma.

Apply to aromatherapy necklace to help relieve anxiety.

Diffuse to help promote relaxation and decrease stress. I love to diffuse Serenity when I practice Yoga too! It is such a lovely addition to all my yoga practice 🙂

My kiddos also enjoy the Serenity Blend diffused at night and they calm down significantly faster than they ever would before introducing essential oils into our lives. ❤  If you have a hard time getting your children to bed, you have got to give this a shot. You will not be disappointed!

Last but not least, it smells fantastic! This is officially my absolute favorite aroma, and I wear it daily.

How do you use Serenity?

Much love & light to you!

xoxo Angela

How to Live The Life of Your Dreams – Career

Breakthrough: Why am I here??

You are here to LOVE. You are here to share your gift with the world. You have something special inside of you, and the world is in need of your contribution. How could you not share your gift?

Is it money? How the hell am I going to make money sharing my gift?

Sound familiar?

Well, be authentic! Be you! We all have something to offer in this world, and we’re all looking for something, and willing to pay to get it. That’s how we all make a paycheck. You’re either working for someone else, or you’re working for yourself. One way or another, if you want to turn your dreams into a career, you need to provide a product or service.

image

We all want to live the life of our dreams, right? If not, then why would you dream it?

Dreams come from the depths of your soul. Dreaming is your first step to success. But don’t stop there!

Allow me to tell you a little about myself and my dreams:

I am a lover of the Earth and all her inhabitants. [even the grumpy ones!]

I am a lover of all things positive and bringing [unlimited] happiness to myself and others.

I am a lover of growth, renewal, and authenticity.

I am a lover of wholesome, organic foods which provide my body pure, clean energy and wellness.

I am a lover of moving my body – in which ever way she pleases.

I am a lover of all things beautiful and right within this wild world we share.

So what the hell do you think I should be doing with my life?!

I think I should share my love, happiness, and wellness with those who need it most!

I spent my fair amount of time second guessing myself and my dreams, until the day I finally said, “I just want to HELP people.” That was that. “But how?” I thought.

Remember when I said product or service? People need something from you! What is it? What do you have to offer ?

Here’s process for GettingShitDone:

What is your purpose? __________

What do you have/want to offer this world? __________

((Don’t spend too much time here. Often times, this is where people get stuck and never move forward with their dreams. You’ve had your whole life to figure out what speaks to you. What speaks to YOU is what you need to share with those out there who haven’t heard it yet! Don’t worry about the money. Just don’t. It will come with your genuine delivery of what someone else is looking for.))

Can you deliver? [of course you can!!] ___________

What are the ACTION STEPS that you need to take to get you from where you are today, to where you dream of being?

Step 1: __________

Step 2: __________

Step 3: __________

Step 4: __________

As many steps as it takes, write them down.

If you have some uncertainties as to what it takes to achieve your specific goal, don’t stress, remember, everything – is – figureoutable. Figure it out! You can.

Now, approach each step one at a time (in order) and guess what will happen?

Your dreams WILL come true! Inevitably, you will be rewarded with the results you desire.

Do not, I repeat, do not doubt yourself.  The moment you doubt yourself is the moment you stop trying, and the moment you stop trying is the moment you fail.

little by little (or a lot by a lot, depending on you!), you will be making things happen. With each accomplishment you are creating a shift in your life.

You can do this!

Meet Miss Holistic Health Practitioner

NutritionalEquilibriumEvent2

Hello everyone!

It’s me! 🙂

This was my table at a wellness fair at a local wellness center, All Natural Training and Wellness in Salisbury, Mass.

((Where I will soon be teaching group fitness classes! Are you local? Would you be interested in trying a free class?!))

I had so much fun promoting my holistic health coaching and pure essential oils!

So, what exactly does a holistic health coach do? Well…

You can watch this video for a quick answer:

Coaching involves a conversation where one person listens and then advises another person on any subject matter. Over time this term has been used for coaches in education, athletics and music.

As a holistic health coach, I encourage individuals to explore their inner strength and wisdom, improving their confidence and making changes and improvements from within.

The health coaching model is embedded in the fields of psychology, social work, nursing, eastern philosophy, holistic health and wellness management.

A wellness vision is a creative statement by the client that reveals his/her highest potential and can include nutritional, physical, emotional, social, spiritual and financial realms of their life. A new life vision empowers one to see new possibilities along with a specific and clear direction, which can be manifested through inner creativity, wisdom and power. It allows one to activate their imagination and then think, feel, speak and ultimately see the manifestation of their unified highest potential. A wellness vision is a tool a health coach uses to help the client move to new levels of wellbeing by connecting the client to their own truth and wisdom that is held within.

The manifestation of a wellness vision is done through the process of goal setting. Goal setting is a collaborative behavior change technique used between the coach and the client. During the motivational interviewing process, after strengths, values and desires are determined and the client’s vision is set in place, specific goals are set so the client is able to move in the direction of his/her newly formed desires.

In other words, we help transform your dreams into reality!

I can help you work through your frustrations and uncertainty. Through the good days, and the not so good days.

Are you living the life of your dreams? What action steps could you take to make your life reflect your desires?

If you would like to know more about me, what I do as a health coach, my programs or how you could become a heath coach, please feel free to email me! HealthCoachAB@gmail.com (or comment here!) I would be more than happy to help!

Much Love and light to you!

Purely Essential: Top 7 Uses For Essential Oil of Peppermint

Pure Essential Oils

The first time I ever tried pure essential oils was when I received a free sample from a friend who is a Wellness Advocate with doTERRA International. I remember my 2 year old had the hiccups. Not just gentle hiccups, but those violent almost painful hiccups. I remembered reading that peppermint oil could cure the hiccups in seconds and of course, I thought back to all those “cures” from when I was a kid myself trying to get rid of pesky hiccups. I figured, “what do we have to lose?”

2 drops of peppermint oil on the back of his neck and 1 second later, the hiccups were gone, vanished!

DoterraPeppermintBeadlettesNutritionalequilibrium

I couldn’t believe that my mom didn’t know this. I couldn’t believe the whole world didn’t know this!

Then I got a headache. I happened to be talking with my Wellness Advocate friend, and she said “3 drops of peppermint oil on the back of your neck!” 🙂 I thought, “waahht?”

3 drops of peppermint oil on the back of my neck, and 10 minutes later, my headache was completely gone! How much would you pay for something that you do not have to ingest, and it takes away headaches (and hiccups!) in minutes? Oh, and it’s completely natural, not poisonous to your liver. Contains no pesticides, synthetic chemicals or additives. 100% pure essential plant oil.

🙂

If you don’t believe me, please, request a FREE sample. ( HealthCoachAB@gmail.com) I would be happy to send you one! You can put it in your medicine cabinet, and when the time comes, it will be there for you. Just make sure you come back and tell me how amazed you are! That’s my favorite part of sharing! 🙂

So obviously those are my personal top #1 & 2, Here’s 3-7….

3.) Sore Muscles: Because peppermint oil has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic properties, it not only can relieve pain and inflammation but can also calm the spasms that cause muscle cramps.

  • Dilute with fractionated coconut oil and rub entire area which is sore.

4.) Stress Relief: Like many other essential oils, peppermint is able to provide relief from stress, depression, anxiety, and mental exhaustion due to its refreshing nature.

  • For stress relief, combine peppermint & lavender essential oils to help relieve tension while absorbed through your body’s largest organ: your skin.
  • Aromatherapy is amazingly effect as well. If you are new to diffusing or have yet to try, I highly recommend it! You can find diffusers for as little as $15.00.

5.) Energy/Alertness: Peppermint oil powerfully affects and improves mental clarity and raises energy levels. If you’re trying to cut back on caffeine, this may be a blessing to your mid-afternoon lull.

  • Rub a drop of oil under the nose to help improve concentration and alertness.
  • Diffuse Peppermint oil in the room to improve concentration and accuracy.
  • Apply to the back of the neck and shoulders repeatedly to keep energy levels up during the day.
  • Inhale before and during a workout to help boost your mood and reduce fatigue.

6.) Colds/Congestion: Menthol provides effective relief from many respiratory problems including nasal congestion, sinusitis, asthma, bronchitis and the common cough & cold. It is often an ingredient in natural chest rubs to help with congestion.

  • Massage 2-3 drops (along with a carrier oil) onto chest or drop into a humidifier to help clear sinus and lung congestion.
  • If you’re head is feeling stuffed or you can’t stop coughing, try a peppermint essential oil steam. Pour boiling water into a metal or glass bowl, and add a few drops of essential oil (On Guard blend, eucalyptus and rosemary are good combinations with peppermint). Drape a towel over your head and position your face 10-12 inches above the bowl and breathe in the steam.

7.) Indigestion: One of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs for soothing digestion is peppermint. Peppermint oil is very helpful in digestion asithas a carminative property of expelling gas (from the stomach or intestines so as to relieve flatulence or abdominal pain or distension).

  • Massage several drops on your abdomen, place a drop on wrists, or inhale to soothe motion sickness or general nausea.
  • Drinking mint tea has long been the antidote to an upset stomach.
  • Inhaling peppermint oil is also said to help curb the appetite by triggering a sense of fullness.

Those are my top 7 uses for peppermint essential oil. 🙂 There are many, many more. I encourage you to do some research on these amazing essentials.

What do you use your essential oils for?

I would love to hear from you! 🙂

Much love & light,

Angela

Pure Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils

image

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE essential oils? Specifically pure therapeutic grade essential oils.

I was introduced to essential oils a little over a year ago by a dear friend of mine. She had an answer for every ailment with these magical oils. I wasn’t able to try them right away because she lived a few states away, and they just weren’t on the top of my priority list at the time. Silly me! I wish I had tried them sooner! I had no idea at the time how truly amazing they are and how much they would change my life!

I could write about essential oils for days and days,  but I’m going to go ahead and keep this (relatively) short and sweet. 🙂 With an introduction to Lemon essential oil.

Lemon essential oil has many uses in my home 🙂

My favorites are:

1.) Hot tea with lemon:  I love to add lemon essential oil to my tea. I used to use a lemon wedge, but I was always worried about pesticides being on the skin. dōTERRA essential oils contain no pesticides, no chemical residues, or additives of any kind. They are 100% pure.

2.) Rev up your metabolism & cleanse the toxins:  Have you heard how amazingly beneficial adding hot water with lemon to your morning routine is? Well, essential oils have made my life easier because I’m able to rev up my metabolism every morning with my hot water + 5 drops of lemon essential oil. 🙂

3.) Make water better:  Cold water is also great with lemon essential oil. Do you ever get bored of plain old water? I love to make myself a beautiful batch of fruit + essential oils (pictured is my fruit infused water + Slim & Sassy essential oil blend) . My water is never boring, and yours shouldn’t be either! 😉

imageimage

We also love to make lemonade with the lemon essential oil, we also like to add some to our fresh veggie/fruit juice, and even frosting! Can you imagine a luscious lemon frosting made with lemon essential oil? The kiddos love it!

image

4.) Washing produce:  I try to buy mostly organic produce, but it’s not always available, and I don’t have dollars coming out of my ears, so sometimes I have to give in and purchase conventional produce. When I do, I can feel better about the levels of  pesticides actually getting into our meals because I not only soak the fruits & veggies, but I use lemon essential oils to help break the bind of pesticides on the surface.

5.) Disinfecting Porous Surfaces: All you need is 3-4 drops per 32oz spray bottle and you’ve got your elbow grease in the palm of your hands! We don’t get sick much around here anymore, but when we go back to school or if we have company who isn’t feeling well, I make sure to wipe down all the door knobs/handles with this fine lemon mix.

There are so many more uses and benefits for integrating lemon essential oil into your healthy lifestyle, but I will end it there for now. Those are my top, everyday uses, in my home, for lemon essential oil.

Can you live without it? You shouldn’t have to! If you’re interested in trying a fee sample, please let me know, I’d me be than happy to send you one 🙂

Running Through My Mind

Once again, I’ve let every responsibility in the world come before the good ol’ blog.

Well, I’m back! And expect to see me often.

I’ve got some exciting projects coming up and some extra special collaborations with some amazing people to bring you more inspiration to start living the life of your dreams too! 🙂

I’m so, so close to being done with school. I’ve been focusing so hard on each task at hand to ensure that I get the most out of what I have with them right NOW. Living in the present.

Unfortunately, that’s resulted in me slacking in the exercise department too. I’ve done this or that, here and there, but no consistency. As we all know, consistency is KEY. So expect to see more fitness related content from me as well. I’ve got to walk my talk ya know! 😉

Today I was able to get out for a run. I love running. ❤ I didn’t always love running, but now it’s like my meditation time. I don’t have much time to just sit and meditate (if I do, there’s 2 rambunctious boys in the background)

Have you ever realized how much you can mentally work through during a 30 minute run?

I told myself, “run 15 minutes away, then run right back.” So I did. 🙂

Look at the lovely view I had running along Johnsons Pond.

NutritionalEquilibriumRUN1 NutritionalEquilibriumRUN2  NutritionalEquilibriumRUN3

Then the sun finally came out.

NutritionalEquilibriumRUN4

I was able to figure out my most important goals and what I need to do to make them a reality in my life. (I do this for a living! I better be able to do it for ME)

Are you ready to run through my mind? Here’s what I thought throughout my run today:

“Ah, jeez. Why has it been so long since I’ve done this?” “What, did my shoes get heavier?”

“lalalalala”

“inhale, exhale”

“You’ve got this, go faster!” “PUSH” “That hill’s not big

“Phew, okay, slow down. I can’t breathe!”

“Hmm, I wonder what that breathless workout’s all about.. aren’t we supposed to breathe though? I need to learn more about the science of oxygen and muscles and exercise”

“Why do they honk? Really, do they get pleasure out of scaring me?”

“Man, I need to do this everyday, it hurts too much if I don’t.”

“ugh but I need to blog. And finish my website. And schedule follow ups with my clients. And cook dinner. And finish school! And become a presidential diamond with doterra so I can make millions.”

“That’s it. I can blog just like I am running right now, just DO it!”

“I can’t breathe”

“Ahhh downhill”

“Okay, I need to sit down and write out all of my goals when I get home, right after I stretch these legs out”

“What are my goals?”

“I need to find a way to get all of my knowledge out there for the world to know too”

-Second Wind-

“I want to spread my love to the world, how do I do that?”

“I need to just do that.”

“But I cant remember anything as soon as I sit in front of the computer, I go blank.”

“Then ask! People ask you things everyday, why not blog about each topic you get asked about? Yea! That’s awesome. I’m awesome.”

“I love life”

“I need to share my love (and experience) with everyone so they can feel this way too”

❤ ❤ ❤

“positivity is the root of love and life”

“Woah, we’re back already!”

Haha So who else thinks like that while running? I know I’m not alone!

So maybe I didn’t figure out exactly what I have to do, but I feel much better about it all. I feel like each piece is achievable. In fact, I feel unstoppable.

I have a LOT to do. 🙂

Stay tuned tomorrow for a post featuring my eats & drinks from my Summerlicious Glow Cleanse. xoxoxo

Much love & light to you my friends!

Angie

What Are YOU Hungry For?

As many of you know, I am finishing up my education at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I want to share with you one of the unique teachings that really speaks to me deeply: Primary Food.

What is Primary Foods, you ask?

HolisticIINHealth

Well, think back to a time when you were deeply involved in a project you loved. You were excited about this project, and it stimulated your senses. The outside world faded away. You didn’t feel the need to eat, or you didn’t remember to eat and someone had to come by and remind you.

Remember back to when you were a child, playing outside with friends. When dinner is ready Mom or Dad are there to remind you that it’s time to come and eat, but what did you say as a child? More often than not, you probably responded with, “No thanks! not hungry yet! :)”

As a child, you live off Primary Food. Play fuels children and the little food you get in is Secondary Food, nourishment from calories, vitamins, and minerals.

The same is true when you’re deeply in love, or working passionately on a project that you’re excited about. Primary Food is the fun, excitement, and love of daily life. They have the power to feed us so that we feel full and food becomes secondary.

Now think of a time when you were sad, lonely, or your self-esteem was low; you were starving for primary food. No amount of secondary food would do. You ate as much as you wanted, but never felt satisfied.

Even in good times when we come home at night, we often look to the fridge for something to eat, when all we really want is a hug or someone to talk to.

Elements such as an inspiring career, meaningful spiritual practice, enjoyable physical activity, and honest and open relationships that feed your soul and your hunger for living all constitute primary food.

The more primary food we receive, the less we depend upon secondary foods. The same is true for the opposite. The more we fill ourselves with secondary foods, the less we are able to receive the primary foods of life.

All that we consider today as nutrition is really just a secondary source of energy.

To have an understanding that it is not just what you eat, it’s the water you drink, the air you breathe, the love in your life, the fact that you exercise, and so much more.

Think about the person who goes home at night and binges on junk food, do you think that exact same person would go home at night and binge if they came home to someone who gave them a warm hug and said, “I love you.” …Much less likely. As yourself this, does this person have and eating disorder? Or a love deficiency? This is a very serious problem that many people suffer with. I’ve been there.

Make sure you are getting your Vitamin L: LOVE

It’s not just relationships, it’s career too, you’re work is nearly half your life. If you are in a job that you don’t like, that is painful to be at. You will live a life unfulfilled. I’ve been there too, I get it. It’s odd to me now, though, to witness people spending 8-10 hours a day in an environment that they don’t love, don’t believe in, and is diametrically opposed to their personal values. This is not healthy. I don’t care how much 401K you have.

It’s not only the foods you’re eating, it is also the environment you are assimilating that really will effect your health and your future. A lot of people believe it is only a dream to work in a field that you are passionate about and fully believe in. It’s not a dream! It is fully available to people who insist that it should be that way.

Please take time to explore your primary foods as you embark on your health journey.

What are YOU hungry for?

Who are you? What is your unique gift that you can share with the world?

If you are interested in working with me contact me for a free consultation.

If you would live to learn more about The Institute For Integrative Nutrition, please feel free to ask me anything!

Much love and light to you,

Angie

How To Get Things Done

“Your mind is for having ideas, not holding them.” David Allen

How mind blowing is that statement right there? Really take a moment, take a deep inhale, then exhale. Now, is your mind clear? Or are you still thinking about all the things you think of every moment of everyday? “I have to…, I can’t forget to…, Oh man, what was that thing I was supposed to be thinking about? Why can’t I remember.. What is it..” Sounds familiar?

As some of you may know, I have been spending the past year working on building a business. Building a business takes a lot of thinking! And remembering! I can say that I’ve never considered that I’ve always used my brain as a storage device before this year, but I have. Are you?

brain1

I remember a time when I fell behind about a week in school. I was so worried and nervous about being behind by a week, that I spent almost another week worrying about how I was going to get caught up! Do you know what I mean? I basically wasted hours “worrying” but not taking action. I became so trapped in my thoughts of “I can’t do it now..” but I could have!

I could have sat down with a notepad and a pen and written out all of the things that I was worried about completing. If you write out all of your responsibilities for the week, you don’t have to think about them anymore! Then, after writing out your responsibilities, you cant jot down the steps you need to take to complete those tasks. Then, the amount of time it will take you. Not only will you have a better understanding about what you have to do, but what you have TIME to do. If you add up all of your responsibilities and the time limit you have to do them in, you’re able to move tasks around to where they fit in best for you. That saves space for you to think about things that are happening in the present. When you think about what is happening in the present, you are able to fully engage and obtain the best results. What do you think about your amount of productivity day in and day out? Do you think you could work to improve your skills in time management to optimize your productivity? This is definitely something I would like to master.

looking-universe-22843320

For as long as I can remember I’ve been storing things in my brain. That’s what my brain is for, right? …Maybe not. After that moment when I realized that I had been using my brain as a storage device, I decided to type “How to get things done” into my Google search bar. What I came across was priceless. I found the artist of stress free productivity, David Allen.

If you have been struggling with time management and getting things done, please watch this wonderful video. It will change your life! ❤

You may want to watch it 2… or ten times. 🙂

So how do you feel now? Are you going to make some changes in the way you store your information? Let go of things that really don’t serve you? I hope this helps you the way it has helped me!

Love, Light, and peace of mind,

🙂 Angie

Reflections of a Vision Board

I was looking through my first binder that I put together when I first received my books and welcome pack from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I came across my 1st assignment, which was to create a vision board for what I want out of life, career, what will bring me happiness and abundance? This is what I put together:

Image

Right away I see healthy eating & fitness. Look a little deeper and you’ll see I love to juice fresh fruits & vegetables, I love to make delicious & nutritious smoothies. Look even deeper and you’ll see that my intention is to just be, simplify, while experiencing my own personal growth, and pursuit of happiness, health and success.

While I learn I will also teach.

My mission is to create a ripple effect of health and happiness. I want you to know what it feels like to have unlimited energy. I want you to know what it feels like to evict negativity from your thoughts and only think kindly about everyone, including yourself.

I hope to inspire those around me to think for themselves. Do what you feel best doing, and stay grounded with love. I know it’s not always easy to do that, but once you make the shift, you’ll never go back! Don’t be afraid to love people up! Each time you send love to another human being, they are going to take that love and spread it in their world, which is your world- our world. We all live here. Let’s spread some extra love and happiness out there. Can you imagine what the world would be like if every single person on this plant loved themselves and everyone around them? Love’s powerful stuff!

I will be working on an updated vision board for 2014, I invite you to put together your own to create intentions and then decide your action steps.

What do you want out of this life?

Please feel free to comment & share with us your vision! ❤

Much Love & Light to you,

Angela
